As of July 1st, 2021 there are a few changes in VAT rules for eCommerce within the European Union (EU).
Previously in the EU the threshold for a webshop to register and collect VAT depended on the country in which the webshop is based. But individual thresholds per country have disappeared from July 21st, 2021. Since then only one (EU) threshold applies for distance selling to all other EU-countries.
In effect we will always apply your national VAT during checkout, based on your shipping address and when VAT is applicable.
Note Some EU-countries have regions that don't participate in the free exchange of goods and services as is common within the EU. These regions are handled the same as for a non-EU country - and VAT will be shifted. The regions exempt from VAT are listed here on the site of the Dutch Tax administration office (Dutch only, but self-explanatory).
